ARMENIA WILL BE THE MOST STABLE COUNTRY IN THE REGION, ROBERT KOCHARIAN SAID

YEREVAN, May 10. /Mediamax/. President Robert Kocharian said today, speaking at “Armenia Investor Conference 2001” business forum in New York, that the list of foreign companies entering the Armenian market is persistently expanding.
According to him, in the past four years there has been a steady inflow of foreign direct investments in Armenia at the average rate of two hundred million dollars per year. “These figures do not appear to be most impressive. However, viewed at the per capita bases, they tend to be competitive with those in other CIS countries,” Robert Kocharian said.
“Absence of domestic interethnic and religious problems, as well as deep cultural traditions will allow Armenia to be the most stable and organised country in the region” the President declared.
As the special correspondent of Mediamax reports from New York, Robert Kocharian drew the attention of the participants of the business forum to the fact that at present 75% of GDP of Armenia is already produced in the private sector. –0–
