YEREVAN, April 25. /Mediamax/. Political secretary of the Union of Socialistic Forces of Armenia, Ashot Manucharian said today at a briefing in Yerevan that several political forces of Armenia think the region of Meghri must be considered as a communication corridor when settling the Karabakh conflict.
Manucharian thinks “any insignificant mention about Meghri is unacceptable for Armenia and presents great danger”. In case the agreement is signed between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the big powers will speak as the guarantors of this document, the politician said.
He stressed that after the signing of the agreement “any measures supposedly for ensuring security in the Meghri corridor” will be undertaken. Manucharian reminded that the USA carried out military operation in Yugoslavia, not waiting for the adoption of necessary resolution of the UN Security Council. If Armenia “creates problems” for the big powers, then the “Yugoslavian variant” will be probably applied, the Secretary of the Union of Socialistic Forces of Armenia believes. –0–
