RUSSIAN EMBASSY NAMED A YEREVAN PAPER PUBLICATION “AN OBVIOUS PROVOCATION”

YEREVAN, April 19. /Mediamax/. The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Armenia named today the publication of the Yerevan Haykakan Zhamanak paper “an obvious provocation” and “an attempt to frustrate the negotiation process between Armenia and Azerbaijan”.
On April 18th, “Haykakan Zhamanak” published an article entitled “As the elder brother”, which told about supposedly slighting statements of the President of the Council of Federation of Russia Yegor Stroyev about Armenia. Stroyev himself denied on April 19th the statements “attributed” to him.
The press release of the embassy, which Mediamax received today, notes that “this is already not the first attempt on the part of separate Armenian mass media to discredit the policy of Russia in Transcaucasus”. Undoubtedly, the press release says, “these publications reflect the vision of those forces which are evidently not interested in the deepening of Armenian-Russian cooperation”. –0–
