YEREVAN, April 19. /Mediamax/. Today, Nairi Hunanian – the head of the terrorist group, which shot on 27 October 1999 the Speaker of the parliament and the Prime Minister of Armenia – began to testify at the trial in Yerevan.
The main accused of the case of the terrorist act in the parliament began his testimony from his very birthday. He refuted the statements that he was brought up in an unfortunate family. Nairi Hunanian said that he began his contacts with Dashnaktsutiun party in 1989, and in 1990 he took the party oath and got admitted to Dashnaktsutiun.
Hunanian, who had earlier refused lawyer services, asked Wednesday the court to give him a lawyer on the part of the government. Member of the Union of Lawyers of Armenia, Artavazd Karapetian took up the duties of Hunanian’s lawyer at the trial today.
The trial over the executors of the terrorist act in the National Assembly of Armenia began in Yerevan on February 15. –0–
