YEREVAN, April 19. /Mediamax/. The unemployment level makes 8,1 per cent in Nagorno Karabakh Republic (NKR) at present, the Minister of Social Security of NKR, Lenston Galusian said in his interview to Mediamax.
He noted that as compared with 2000, a certain decrease of unemployment was fixed. He also said that the government planned to implement series of programs on creation of new jobs in current year. According to the Minister, as of December 1, 2000, 4537 persons were registered in the state services for employment, from which 122 were placed in jobs. 3517 persons had the status of unemployed. The half of the unemployed is in Stepanakert. About 500 people receive an unemployment allowance equal to 3500 drams. –0–
