PROGRAM OF MAY 9 FESTIVITIES APPROVED IN NAGORNO KARABAKH

YEREVAN, March 27. /Mediamax/. Government of Nagorno Karabakh Republic (NKR) approved the composition of the governmental commission for organization and realization of festivities on May 9.
May 9 is recognized in NKR as Victory Day over fascism, NKR Defense Army Day and Day of liberation of the town of Shushi.
As the correspondent of Mediamax reports from Stepanakert, NKR Defense Minister Lieutenant-General Seyran Ohanian heads the governmental commission.
In accord with the festivities program, on May 9 the President of NKR, members of the Security Council, National Assembly and the government of the republic will visit Stepanakert memorial complex and the town of Shushi. Sport-cultural events will be held in the capital and regions of Nagorno Karabakh on May 8-9. The festivities program includes visits to military units, meetings with veterans of the Great Patriotic War and participants of liberation of Shushi. Soldiers, who distinguished themselves in Karabakh war, will be given state awards and valuable presents. Participants of the Great Patriotic War and families of the soldiers, killed in Karabakh war are to be given lump sum allowance. –0–
