YEREVAN, March 20. /Mediamax/. In the interview to Mediamax, member of the commission for privatization of Armenia’s distributive power networks, deputy of parliament Seyran Avagian didn’t exclude the possibility of potential investors’ refusal to participate in the tender.
Avagian told Mediamax that according to the assessments of legal advisors of the commission, the text of the agreement, which has been sent to the companies-pretenders of the tender, isn’t very risky. According to the deputy, if this or that company will not wish to take part in the privatization of power networks, then it will simply not send its envelope with the proposal by March 29. Seyran Avagian also noted that the commission doesn’t carry on talks with the potential investors at present.
The member of the commission said that the work over the text of the agreement for networks’ privatization, in which the representatives of all the factions and deputy groups of the National Assembly of Armenia were involved, took 1.5 years.
3 companies are taking part in the privatization of the 4 distributive power networks of Armenia – the American AES Silk Road, the Spanish Union Fenosa, and the Swiss-Swedish ABB. –0–
