ILHAM ALIYEV CALLS ON RUSSIA TO HEAD THE NEGOTIATION PROCESS OF KARABAKH CONFLICT SETTLEMENT

YEREVAN, March 19. /Mediamax/. “We want Russia to head the negotiation process for Karabakh dispute settlement, as it’s Russia, and not the USA or France, that has the real levers of conflict settlement”, the son of Azerbaijani president, Ilham Aliyev stated today in the interview to the Russian “Expert” journal.
I. Aliyev noted that Armenia and Azerbaijan have come to the conclusion that “it’s not expedient to fight”. According to him, despite the fact that presidents Heydar Aliyev and Robert Kocharian state that the Karabakh problem must be solved on the basis of compromises, “these compromises must meet the national interests of Azerbaijan”. –0–
