ARMENIA IS READY TO ESTABLISH JOINT ENTERPRISES WITH RUSSIA IN MILITARY-INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX SPHERE

YEREVAN, March 16. /Mediamax/. If necessary, Armenia will be “pleased” to establish joint enterprises with Russia in the sphere of Military-Industrial Complex (MIC), Armenian Defense Minister, Secretary of the Security Council at the President of Armenia, Serzh Sarkisian said today in the interview to Yerevan “Hayots Ashkhar” paper. Serzh Sarkisian was appointed on March 14 the co-chairman of the Armenian-Russian inter-governmental commission for economic and scientific-technical cooperation.
Sarkisian noted that in Soviet times Armenian military-industrial enterprises were, in fact, a part of the Russian MIC. “If Russia displays wish to purchase these enterprises in the privatization process, this will also be an acceptable and normal variant”, Armenian Minister said.
Serzh Sarkisian said at present Armenian-Russian economic cooperation yields to the military-political one. “Our task must be to bring Armenian-Russian economic relations at least to the level of the military-political ones”, Armenian Defense Minister stressed. –0–
