PRESIDENT OF FINLAND MAY VISIT ARMENIA THIS YEAR

YEREVAN, March 13. /Mediamax/. Issues on the possible organization of the visit of the President of Finland to Armenia in 2001 were discussed today at the meeting of the Armenian Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanian and the Ambassador of Finland to Armenia (the residence is in Tehran) Timo Lahelman.
As Mediamax was informed in the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Armenia, T. Lahelman presented copies of his credentials to V. Oskanian. The parties stressed the need to create necessary contractual-legal basis for activation of Armenian-Finnish bilateral relations.
Armenian Foreign Minister said Finland plays a special role in developing Yerevan’s relations with the European Union. Vardan Oskanian also presented the present stage of the Karabakh conflict settlement to the Finnish diplomat. –0–
