YEREVAN, March 7. /Mediamax/. 216 families of repatriates left for the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh (NKR) for permanent residence in the period from January 2000 to March 2001. About 150 houses were built for the immigrants in 2001, the Minister of Social security of NKR Lenston Gulian told the correspondent of Mediamax.
The housing construction for these people continues, and 200 more houses are to be built this year, the Minister said.
For the families, who settled in frontier zone and in sparsely populated settlements of NKR, comparatively wide privileges are envisaged. Besides dwelling allocation, the government renders assistance of various social and consumer goods character. 725 million drams are allocated by the government to solve the problems connected with the return and settlement of the migrators – granting of privileges, construction of houses, schools and social importance objects.
According to the data of the Migration and refugees department at the government of Armenia, another 500 families, mostly of Karabakh origin, have expressed willingness to leave for Karabakh for permanent settlement, the Minister said. –0–
