Amazon.com, the world’s largest online retailer, unveiled a $114 version of its Kindle e-book reader that requires customers to view ads in exchange for getting the lower price, according to Bloomberg.
The new device, called Kindle With Special Offers, costs $25 less than the current lowest-priced model.
“Every time we’ve been able to make Kindle more affordable, we’ve seen huge growth in demand. We expect the same to happen here,” said Jay Marine director of Amazon.com.
It will be available from May 3 at Best Buy and Target stores, in addition to Amazon’s site.
