NATIONAL ASSEMBLY OF ARMENIA PASSED THE LAW ON AMENDMENTS TO “INTERNATIONAL AGREEMENTS” LAW

YEREVAN, March 5. /Mediamax/. The National Assembly of Armenia fully considered and passed at the first and second readings the law “On amendments to International Agreements Law”.
In accord with the amendments, separate agreements, signed between the government of Armenia and international benevolent and humanitarian organizations of inter-state importance, will be given inter-governmental status. Thus, these documents will be submitted to the National Assembly of Armenia for ratification on the legal basis. Such precedents have already been observed earlier, when the National Assembly of Armenia ratified the agreement between the government of Armenia and the American Red Cross.
Such rashness in passing the law is explained in the parliamentary lobby by the coming ratification of Memorandum on mutual understanding between the government of Armenia and The Lincy Foundation, signed on November 20, 2000. –0–
