On April 22, Yerevan hosted an international meeting on formation of a system to reduce disaster risks in Armenia.
“Protection of the population and elimination of consequences of emergency situations are of strategic importance for the republic,” Armenian National Security Council Secretary Arthur Baghdasaryan said.
“Since Armenia is located in a region subjected to various natural disasters, a common system to reduce disaster risks should be developed,” he said, adding that the meeting can serve as a good basis for future events.
