YEREVAN, February 13. /Mediamax/. The Chairman of the Permanent Committee of All-Chinese Assembly of National Representatives (PC ACANR) Lee Pen received today in Peking the Chairman of the National Assembly of Armenia Armen Khachatrian. During the meeting Pen stated that China invariably gives much importance to the consolidation of friendly relations with Armenia. Moreover, China is ready to enlarge cooperation with Armenia on the basis of mutual respect, equality and mutual profit to achieve constant progress in bilateral ties, “Sinyukha” agency reports.
Lee Pen noted the successful development of Chinese-Armenians relations and their productive cooperation in various spheres, as well as the constant consolidation of ties between the top legislative bodes of the two countries.
Lee Pen voiced his appreciation to Armenia for adherence to the policy of united China and introduced to Khachatrian the course of reforms, the enlargement of foreign ties and the economic development in China, as well as the views of China on the present international situation.
Mr. Khachatrian confirmed that the leadership of Armenia give serious significance to strengthening relations of friendship and cooperation with China. He expressed his hope that the present close contact between the National Assembly of Armenia and ACANR will assist the multi-sided development of relations between Armenia and China in the new century.
Armen Khachatrian left for Peking today on the invitation of Lee Pen. The Speaker of the Armenian Parliament will also visit Guanchzhou and Shenchzhen. -0-
