CENSUS OF POPULATION TO BE HELD IN ARMENIA IN OCTOBER 2001

YEREVAN, February 13. /Mediamax/. Census of the population will be carried out in Armenia on October 10-19, 2001, Minister of Finance and Economy of the country, Vardan Khachatrian told the journalists yesterday.
The overall expenses on the census will amount to 2 million dollars, from which 400 thousand will be allocated by the Armenian Government, and the main amount – about 1.5 million dollars – will be provided by countries-donors.
The last census of the population in Armenia was held in 1989 – right after the Spitak earthquake. -0-
