THERE ARE NO GROUNDS TO DOUBT IMPARTIALITY OF FRANCE’S MEDIATORY ROLE, ARMENIAN PRESIDENTIAL SPOKESMAN SAID

09.02.2001, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. Press-secretary of Armenian President, Vahe Gabrielian said at today’s briefing that there are no grounds to accuse France of prejudiced position in the Karabakh issue settlement, and what is more, to speak about excluding it from the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship.
Gabrielian stated this commenting upon the statements of Azeri politicians concerning the fact that France can no longer be considered an impartial and objective mediator after having recognized the Armenian Genocide.
“It can hardly be understood what Azerbaijan has to do with the recognition of the Genocide, which was realized in the Ottoman Turkey”, presidential spokesman said. -0-
