PRESS SECRETARY OF THE ARMENIAN PRESIDENT DOESN’T THINK SAMTSKHE-JAVAHETI REGION SHOULD GET SELF-GOVERNMENT STATUS

09.02.2001, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. Spokesman of Armenian President, Vahe Gabrielian said at today’s briefing that statements of some political forces of Armenia concerning the fact that Georgian Samtskhe-Javaheti region, inhabited mainly by ethnic Armenians, should get self-government status, “reflect their own private opinion and have nothing to do with the policy of official Yerevan”.
The press secretary of the Armenian President said solving administrative-organizational issues is a matter of domestic concern of each country. –0–
