09.02.2001, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. One of the main programs of the International Committee for the Red Cross in Nagorno-Karabakh is on keeping the population informed of mine danger. Special attention is paid to the children. As a whole, the program on notifying of mine danger, which envisages the use of videocassettes, visual aids, various special calendars and booklets, will embrace about 22 thousand children.
Within the frames of the program, more than 110 teachers of the secondary schools have been appropriately trained, Mediamax was informed in the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Armenia.
The representatives of the Stepanakert Office of the ICRC note that their purposeful work via the mass media and the educational institutions has raised the awareness of the Nagorno-Karabakh population of mine danger to comparatively high level. -0-
