08.02.2001, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. An exhibition dedicated to the ancient capital of Armenia – the city of Ani has opened in Paris on the initiative of the mayor of the capital, Jean Tiberi and the Armenian Ambassador to France Edward Nalbandian.
As Mediamax was informed in the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Armenia, President of France Jacques Chirac is the sponsor of the exhibition. About 100 displays from the Museum of History of Armenia, the institute of study of ancient manuscripts (Matenadaran), Louvre and the National Library of France will be presented at the exhibition.
The exhibition will be open in Paris till end of May.
At present the ruins of the city of Ani are on the territory of Turkey. -0-
