IRAN CRITICIZES GEORGIAN-ISRAELI AGREEMENT ON JOINT STRUGGLE AGAINST TERRORISM

29.01.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. “Voice of Islamic Republic of Iran” radio station sharply criticized the Agreement on joint struggle against terrorism, signed Friday in Tbilisi between the presidents of Israel and Georgia.
Political experts say “this agreement was a great foreign policy mistake on Georgia’s part”, radio station reports.
“Israel regards defenseless Palestinian people, who struggle for the liberation of their home country, as terrorists. Signing this agreement, Georgia indirectly supports Israel in mass killings of the Palestinian people. This may have a negative effect on Georgia’s relations with the Islamic world, which unanimously condemns crimes of Zionist regime on the occupied territories”, radio reports. –0–
