SCHOOL CONSTRUCTION IN THE REGIONS OF ARMENIA, SUFFERED FROM THE 1988 SPITAK EARTHQUAKE, WILL BE FINISHED BY THE END OF THIS YEAR

19.01.2001, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. The Social Investments Fund (SIF) of Armenia is going to realize the program of school construction in the regions of Armenia, which suffered from the 1988 Spitak earthquake.
As Mediamax was informed in the press service of the government of Armenia, the Executive Director of the SIF Ashot Kirakosian stated this at today’s meeting of the Trustee Council.
Presenting the results of SIF’s work in 2000, Kirakosian said the Fund had multi-profile programs, and purposeful use of means provided the realization of about 100 new projects. The financing of SIF programs in 2001 will exceed last year’s showing to 2 million U.S. dollars. –0–
