19.01.2001, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. We must combat the corruption not only in criminal-procedural, but in the legislative order as well, said today the chief of the Legal Service Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia Michael Grigorian at a press conference in Yerevan.
The present legislation creates “loop-holes” for the corruption to prosper. In this connection each legislative act must be examined by experts from the point of prevention of corruption, Grigorian said.
He also stressed the necessity of working out a universal system for combating corruption in Armenia. M. Grigorian thinks this is the only way of getting rid of this phenomenon, which has penetrated into all the spheres of the life of the country, including the law enforcement bodies. –0–
