12.01.2001, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. “It’s still early to give final assessments to the visit of the Russian President to Azerbaijan”, Armenian Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanian said today in the interview to “Hayots Ashkhar” daily.
Minister said concrete results must be observed before summing up the visit. Until recent times some contradictions were observed in Azerbaijan’s policy regarding the relations with Russia and the West. “On the one hand, Baku keeps calling for the necessity of entering NATO, and on the other hand Azerbaijan signs military cooperation with Russia,” Oskanian said. In this context Armenia is worried about the following – how sincere the partnership of Azerbaijan and Russia will be, Armenian Foreign Minister said. -0-
