USA TO FIND NEW WAYS IN 2001 TO SETTLE THE KARABAKH ISSUE

27.12.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. “In 2001 the USA will continue to search for new ways to settle the Karabakh issue, which is necessary for the establishment of peace and stability in the region”, says the New Year message of the US Ambassador to Armenia Michael Lemon addressed to the Armenian nation.
The American diplomat noted that after the tragic events of October 27, 1999 the Armenian nation “overcame the grief and the political disagreements, and united to establish stability and to preserve democratic principles in the republic”.
Michael Lemon noted that concrete steps were taken in 2000 aimed at improving the investment atmosphere and developing the economy. “In cooperation with the Government of Armenia we will undertake joint steps to struggle against corruption to restore the belief of the Armenian people in bright future”, the American Ambassador said. -0-
