NOTABLE PROGRESS IN SECURITIES MARKET EXPECTED IN ARMENIA IN 2001

27.12.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. “In 2001 the securities commission of Armenia plans to create a legal basis for the functioning of the securities market, as well as to form infrastructures, necessary for the market activity regulating,” the chairman of the securities commission of Armenia Eduard Muradian said in the interview to Mediamax.
According to Muradian, in May 2001 the Armenian Stock Exchange will begin to operate. It will work on the basis of the “Russian Trade System”.
Besides, the chairman of the commission said, it is planned to finish the process of formation of the Central Depositary of the country, which, according to him, will give additional guarantees to the investors. -0-
