STATEMENTS OF ONE OF THE MAIN ACCUSED OF THE TERRORIST ACT AGAINST NKR PRESIDENT WERE HEARD TODAY

26.12.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. Today the statements of Sasun Aghajanian, who is accused of being the direct executor of the terrorist act against NKR President Arkady Ghukasian, were heard at the court session in Stepanakert.
As the correspondent of Mediamax reports, the court refused the State Prosecutor’s proposal to examine the defendant in the absence of the main accused of the case – NKR ex defense minister Samvel Babayan.
Defendant Aghajanian confirmed that at the distribution of the roles he was instructed to fire at the presidential car. He also said he didn’t remember the person who instructed him. Aghajanian declared that he wasn’t going to kill the President of NKR, he “just wanted to frighten Ghukasian after watching him speak on TV, as he took some statements of the President as personal offense”. -0-
