26.12.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. The Foreign Minister of Armenia Vardan Oskanian denied today at a press conference in Yerevan the information of Azeri mass media that Aliyev and Kocharian prepare a peace accord to be signed.
Minister Oskanian noted that the direct dialogue of the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan will be continued in 2001. He said that during the direct contacts the heads of the two states try to take off the obstacles on the path of resumption of the negotiation process within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group. “As soon as the negotiations within the framework of the Minsk process are resumed, Nagorno Karabakh representatives will undoubtedly take part in them,” Oskanian said. He didn’t exclude that if the talks of Aliyev and Kocharian don’t give any results, the Minsk Group co-chairmen will liven up their activity. -0-
