DASHNAKTSUTYUN PARTY LAYS DOWN 2 CONDITIONS FOR THE NORMALIZATION OF ARMENIAN-TURKISH RELATIONS

21.12.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. “Armenia had considerable success on the international arena in 2000, first of all in the matter of international recognition of the Armenian Genocide”, “Dashnaktsutyun” Supreme Body representative, deputy of the Armenian National Assembly Armen Rustamian said in the interview to Mediamax.
Ankara’s rough position towards the activation of the process of the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide showed to the world that it’s still too early for Turkey to become a full member of the European community, Rustamian said.
As regards the perspectives of normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations, Rustamian noted that Dashnaktsutyun lays two main conditions to Ankara: neutral position towards the Karabakh conflict settlement and recognition of the Armenian Genocide of 1915. -0-
