THE TRIAL OF NKR EX DEFENSE MINISTER IS RESUMED

15.12.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. Today the trial on the case of the March 22 terrorist act against NKR President is resumed.
As the correspondent of Mediamax reports from Stepanakert, the results of the regular medical examination of accused Sasun Aghajanian, organized on the defense solicitation, were read out. The judicial-medical examination, carried out at special hospital of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia, ascertained that Sasun Aghajanian is exhausted physically, but after a treatment course he would be able to take part in the court hearings.
According to the examination conclusion, S. Aghajanian is conscious, though he didn’t react to outer irritants and stared constantly at one point. At the same time the final conclusion concerning his physical ability to take part in the court hearings is impossible, as the accused doesn’t speak to anybody.
A short break was announced on the solicitation of the defense for the lawyers to more closely get acquainted with the results of the judicial-medical examination.
The trial of the accused of the March 22 terrorist act against NKR president Arkadi Ghukasian began in Stepanakert on September 18. The main accused of the case is NKR ex defense minister Lieutenant-General Samvel Babayan. There are 16 persons involved in the case. -0-
