IRAN-ARMENIA GAS PIPELINE CONSTRUCTION WILL START IN JANUARY 2001

15.12.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. The construction of Iran-Armenia gas pipeline will start in January 2001, Yerevan Azg paper reports quoting informed sources.
In September 2001, after the Iranian part of the pipeline is ready, the construction works will begin in Armenia, the paper informs.
The pipeline is to be 140 km long – 100 and 40 kilometers in Iran and in Armenia accordingly. The project is estimated 120 million US dollars; France, Greece, Russia, China and the Ukraine, as well as the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development and the World Bank have shown their interest in it at various times . -0-
