STRONG OPPOSITION MUST BE FORMED TO THE PRESENT AUTHORITIES, ARMENIAN PARLIAMENTARIAN THINKS

07.12.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. “It’s necessary to regulate the activities of the National-Democratic Union (NDU) board”, member of NDU board, deputy of the National Assembly of Armenia Shavarsh Kocharian said today at a press conference in Yerevan.
At the same time Kocharian thinks that there is no need to change the leader of the party board – Vazgen Manukian. The deputy said that NDU is to pass one of the submitted resolutions at a special session on December 16, and this, in his opinion, will be crucial for NDU.
The parliamentarian said that resolution project proposed by him suggests NDU’s coalition with other political forces and formation of a “strong opposition to the present authorities”. Kocharian said that he would leave NDU board in case the resolution project, proposed by him, was voted down. “I’m ready to leave the party if this promotes the normalization of its activity”, Kocharian said. -0-
