15-YEAR-OLD ARMENIAN VIOLINIST WINS JEAN SIBELIUS INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION

06.12.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. 15-year-old Armenian violinist Sergey Khachatrian wins the VIII International Jean Sibelius Violin Competition, which is held in Finland every five years.
As “Helsinken Sanomat” paper reports, he took the first prize of 16.000 Euros.
Sergey was born in Yerevan, Armenia. The family moved to Frankfurt when Sergey was eight years old. Sergey wants to have a successful career and to play his violin around the world. And he wants to play in Carnegie Hall in New York. -0-
