Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 coming to UK on August 4

Samsung’s latest tablet, the Android-powered super-thin Galaxy Tab 10.1, will come to the UK in August.

According to Mobile News, Samsung is releasing its second Galaxy Tab tablet computer in the UK on August 4, a month after its US debut. The 10.1 is the first Samsung tablet to come in a similar size to the iPad following the earlier release of the first 7-inch Galaxy Tab.

The Galaxy Tab 10.1 features a 1Ghz dual-core processor, a 10.1 inch LCD screen, and a three-megapixel rear camera and a two-megapixel rear camera. It weighs 565 grams and is just 8.6 millimeters thick, which Samsung claims makes it the thinnest tablet PC available.

It runs the latest tablet-optimized version of Google’s Android operating system, dubbed Honeycomb and come with Samsung’s Samsung’s Readers Hub and Music Hub online stores.

Samsung has also announced that the next tablet in the Tab range, a smaller device called the Galaxy Tab 8.9, will launch in the UK later this year. Samsung said the device will weigh 470 grams, and be as thin as the Tab 10.1.
