Half an hour before the President of Armenia arrived in Ashkhabad, who came to Turkmenistan on November 29 for a one-day visit, an anonymous warning was received which informed that there was a bomb placed onboard the presidential air liner, “Turkmenistan.Ru” Internet-newspaper reports.
Quoting one of the members of the Armenian governmental delegation, Turkmenistan.Ru informs that not long before Robert Kocharian’s arrival in Ashkhabad, an anonymous phone call warned the Turkmen law-enforcement bodies that the bomb in the plane was to explode right after Kocharian landed in the Turkmen capital. The presidents of the both states were immediately notified about this, but they decided not to react on the signal. “The plane with the Armenian delegation arrived in Ashkhabad according to the schedule of the visit, and the Armenian president, going down the airplane ladder, stated smiling to the ones welcoming the guests that “neither threats nor unsuccessful jokes will impede Armenian and Turkmen nations be friends”, Turkmenistan.Ru informs.
