FOREIGN MINISTERS OF ARMENIA AND GREECE DISCUSSED THE PROSPECTS OF CONSTRUCTION OF IRAN-ARMENIA GAS PIPELINE

23.11.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. Issues on trilateral Armenia-Greece-Iran economic cooperation were discussed at the meeting of the Armenian and Greek Foreign ministers took place in Athens.
After the meeting the Armenian Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanian stressed that this trilateral cooperation is economic cooperation only and the sides do not intend to supplement it with military-political components. Mr. Oskanian also said that the issue on construction of Iran-Armenia pipeline was discussed at his meeting with the Greek Foreign Minister “in more real spectrum”.
Greece has stated before about its interests to the project on Iran-Armenia gas pipeline.
“The process of implementation of the project has started long before, however, serious economic calculations are necessary for starting full-scale work, the Spokesman of the Armenian Foreign Ministry Ara Papian said on November 17.
The state visit of the Armenian President Robert Kocharian to Greece will be concluded today, on November 23. –0–
