ARMENIAN GOVERNMENT SUGGESTS USING THE MEANS FROM PRIVATIZATION TO PAY OFF DEBTS

22.11.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. During today’s extraordinary session the Government of Armenia approved the bill about using 8 billion 150 million drams from the means of privatization of state enterprises and unfinished construction objects to pay off the debts for salaries, social payments, pensions and allowances by the end of this year. The government pledges itself to return this amount to the special treasury account of the Central Bank of Armenia by April 1, 2001.
As Mediamax was informed in the press service of the government, the Cabinet of Ministers has taken the decision to turn to the president of Armenia with a request to summon today, November 22, an extraordinary session of the National Assembly of Armenia to give this bill its first and second reading. -0-
