18.11.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. The regular meeting of the Armenian President Robert Kocharian with his Azeri counterpart Heydar Aliyev within the frames of direct dialog of the two leaders on resolution of the Karabakh conflict will be held in Minsk, where the summit of the CIS heads will take place on December 1, a source in the presidential staff informed Mediamax.
The source did not exclude that the meeting between Kocharian and Aliyev will take place on the eve of the summit on November 30.
The last meeting of the Armenian and Azeri presidents was conducted on September 7 of 2000 within the frames of “Millenium Summit” of UN in New York. That was the fifth meeting of the both presidents in 2000.
The first meeting of 2000 was in January within the frames of CIS Summit in Moscow. Then Robert Kocharian and Heydar Aliyev met in February during the World Business Forum in Davos. On June 20 the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan met in Moscow, on August 18 – in Yalta during informal CIS summit. –0–
The direct bilateral talks between Kocharian and Aliyev started yet in spring of 1999. –0–
