IT IS NAIVETY TO SUPPOSE THAT PRESIDENTS KOCHARIAN AND ALIYEV WOULD MANAGE TO FIND KARABAKH CONFLICT SOLUTION SOON, SPOKESMAN OF ARMENIAN FOREIGN MINISTRY SAID

14.11.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. The direct dialog between Armenian and Azeri presidents creates the necessary conditions for exchange of viewpoints, establishment of atmosphere of trust and exclusion of possible resumption of military actions, the Spokesman of the Armenian Foreign Ministry Ara Papian said to “Azg” daily.
The Armenian diplomat said that it is naivete to suppose that the two presidents will manage to find a solution to the problem after having several meetings. According to Papian, the direct dialog between the presidents is taking place along with the negotiations within the OSCE Minsk Group which for today is in stagnation because of difference in approaches the states have.
The Spokesman reminded about those terms the observance of which are necessary for both Armenia and Karabakh: exclusion of Karabakh’s subordination to Azerbaijan, provision of geographic connection between Karabakh and Armenia, guarantees for full value security of Karabakh. –0–
