SEVERAL THOUSAND PEOPLE ARE PICKETING THE RESIDENCE OF THE ARMENIAN PRESIDENT IN YEREVEN

30.10.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. Several thousand people are picketing now the residence of the President of Armenia Robert Kocharian in Yerevan. The traffic in central Baghramian Avenue, where the residence is located, is completely blocked. The picketers are the adherents of the president of the “21st century”, the citizen of the Russian Federation Arkady Vardanian, who promised today, October 30, “to do away with the criminal authorities of Armenia”.
The crowd demands the immediate resignation of the president of Armenia. The officers of the law-enforcement bodies, who have blocked the entrances to the residence of Robert Kocharian, don’t take any actions of physical force.
The picketers have approached the president’s residence from the Theatrical Square, where they have being holding their meeting since noon. -0-
