KARABAKH’S DEFENCE MINISTRY AGAINST DEFERMENT OF MILITARY SERVICES OF STUDENTS FROM NON-STATE HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTES

19.10.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. Serious debates were opened at the session of the National Assembly of Karabakh about the law on military service.
The Mediamax correspondent informs from Stepanakert that Karabakh’s Defence Minister Seyran Ohanian and Education Minister Hamlet Grigorian took part in the discussions.
The discussions were about the deferment of the military service within the period of classes to the students of Artsakh State University and to those citizens of Karabakh who study in Armenian higher educational institutes. Ohanian thinks that such privileges must be given to those students only who study by the state order, while under the bill which was submitted by the government the privileges were proposed to be applied to all the students.
As a result of discussions the consideration of the issue is postponed till next session. –0–
