THE GOVERNMENT IS WORKING ON A COMPLEX PROGRAM FOR STATE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM REFORMATION, SAID PRIME MINISTER OF ARMENIA

12.10.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. “Economic reformations are not an end in themselves, they must provide Armenia’s economic development, as well as favor the comfortable and worthy life of the citizens”, said Prime Minister of Armenia Andranik Margarian at “Armenia: Management Study” seminar, organized by the World Bank together with the government of Armenia.
Andranik Margarian noted that the government of Armenia is working on a complex program of reformations in the sphere of state management. According to the premier, the government has already submitted a bill “On civic service” to the National Assembly which is designed to improve personnel policy. Margarian said that passage of the bill “About declaration of top officials’ income” will be significant in the struggle against corruption.
Premier Margarian also said that the government takes concrete steps on simplifying the process of registration of organizations. The list of economic activity types, subjected to licensing, is already reduced. In the near future a bill “About license policy” bill will be submitted to the National Assembly of the republic.
“The government takes some steps aimed at establishing the authority of law and strict control. I’m sure that the government of Armenia, the World Bank and other international organizations have prepared all the prerequisites to solve our common problems”, declared Prime Minister Margarian. -0-
