THE COURT SESSION FOR TRIAL OF ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT ON RNK PRESIDENT WILL BE CONTINUED TODAY

12.10.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. It is expected that the court session on the case of the assassination attempt on RNK President, being held in Stepanakert, will be continued today at 03:00 pm.
According to MEDIAMAX correspondent informs from Stepanakert that yesterday’s session was postponed as the lawyer of Levon Mirzoyan – Beniamin Manassian hadn’t arrived from Yerevan to Stepanakert because of being too busy.
Under the accord reached with the Union of Lawyers of Armenia Manassian will be replaced by Anjelika Hakopian who is to arrive in Stepanakert from Yerevan October 12. The accused Levon Mirzoyan had earlier refused to have a defense.
The trial of the case of the March 22 terrorist act against RNK president Arkady Ghukasian began on September 18 in Stepanakert. The main accused of the case is RNK ex defense minister, Lieutenant-General Samvel Babayan. -0-
