Issues regarding common economic space will be discussed at the second session of joint boards of Armenia’s Ministry of Economy and Nagorno Karabakh Ministry of Economic Development.
According to Karen Yesayan, NKR Minister of Economic Development, it particularly envisages improving business environment, fostering tourism, information technologies, exchange of experience in line with international standards.
Yesayan also told journalists that an agreement has been achieved to hold two annual meetings of the joint board, in Yerevan and Stepanakert.
Karen Yesayan also added that in the first half year of 2011 Artsakh attracted AMD 50 billion with 70% of investments made in the banking sector. As to the economic growth, it totaled 6%, compared to the same period in 2010.
Tigran Davtyan, Armenia’s Minister of Economy, stressed that Armenia is trying to engage Artsakh in all the programs being implemented in the country, programs with international partners among them. Davtyan emphasized the importance of exchange of experience in fields where Armenia is implementing reforms, including legislative amendments.
Yerevan hosts the meetings of joint boards of Armenia’s Ministry of Economy and NKR Ministry of Economic Development.
In 2010, the two government institutions signed a memorandum on cooperation in all economy sectors.
