ROBERT KOCHARIAN HAS TAKEN PART IN THE INTERACTIVE “ROUND TABLE” WITHIN UN MILLENIUM SUMMIT FRAMEWORK

Armenian President Robert Kocharian took part on September 7 in one of the 4 interactive “round tables”, held within UN Millenium Summit framework, was reported to MEDIAMAX in the press office of the president of Armenia. Presidents and Prime Ministers of about 40 countries participated in the discussions of issues on globalization, security and struggle with poverty.
Armenian president noted in his speech that steps for preventing and eliminating conflicts should be taken, and the UN role in that matter must be decisive. Besides problems connected with conflicts, the participants of the “round table” discussed questions concerning the increase of effectiveness of assistance rendered by developed countries, as well as even development of information technology in developed and developing states. -0-
