THE GOVERNMENT OF ARMENIA AND AMERICAN EPYGI LABS AM COMPANY SIGNED AN AGREEMENT OF INVESTMENTS IN HIGH TECH SPHERE IN THE AMOUNT OF 20 MILLION DOLLARS

06.09.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. Armenian President Robert Kocharian, who is on a visit in New York, met on September 5 with the director of the American Epygi Labs AM company, Sam Simonian, was reported to MEDIAMAX in the press office of the president.
After the meeting Epygi Labs AM and Armenian authorities signed an agreement “About Epygi Labs AM investments for high tech “park” formation in Armenia”, aimed to encourage the development of private sector in the sphere of computer and high technology in Armenia.
The program, envisaged for 5 years (till 2005) and evaluated 20 million dollars, is directed to creating a local Internet center with 1000 seats, electronic commerce training, forming Internet-based curriculum for students, as well as creating 500 new working places in high tech sphere.
The same day Kocharian met with the representatives of High Tech Council and discussed possibilities of development of this sphere in Armenia and the directions of cooperation.
The Armenian president also had talks in New York with the vice-president of City Bank and discussed the perspectives of cooperation. -0-
