06.09.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. According to the perspective program, worked out by the government of the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh, the number of population of Nagorno Karabakh is planned to bring to 300.000 by 2010. This is stated in the Memorandum about cooperation, signed by RNK Prime Minister Anushavan Danielian and Armenian Premier Andranik Margarian during Margarian’s working visit to Stepanakert on September 2-3.
The memorandum foresees development and enlargement of cooperation in different fields of both states, assistance in settlement of actual social-economic questions. The document says that special importance will be given to investment policy, in accord with which many privileges are foreseen for investors. Thanks to the optimum tax regime, the total volume of investments in RNK economy for the first half of 2000 has overall exceeded the capital investments for the past 5 years.
The perspective program for energy development, which will be realized in 2001, foresees an increase of electricity production up to 500 million kilowatt-hour, which will allow to export part of the production.
The priority task in the agricultural field is the reconstruction and equipment of irrigation systems, expansion of vineyard plantations and development of wine-making.
