High Fest 2011 was a success, festival president says

Arthur Ghukasyan, president High Fest 2011 international Performing Arts Festival, describes this year’s event as a success.

According to him, among the Armenian performances the audience most of liked Mihr Theater, Vahan Badalyan’s “Seagull” as well as student works. The audience also favored “Tango de Soledad” staged by UK choreographer Billy Cowie.

Ghukasyan noted that a Danish stage director could not arrive due to family problems while the landslide prevented the arrival of a Georgian company. “Moreover, we could not organize open-air performances because of the ongoing rallies in Liberty Square,” he said.

The 9th edition of the High Fest was held from October 1 to 8.
