The ex-minister of defense of the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh Samvel Babayan organized a terrorist act on March 22 against the president of RNK Arkady Ghukasian to realize a coup d’etat, declared the General Prosecutor of RNK Mavr Ghukasian, reports the correspondent of MEDIAMAX from Stepanakert quoting the National TV of RNK. According to M. Ghukasian, he has had two meetings with Samvel Babayan. “The first meeting was 3 days after the arrest- then S. Babayan said he was not implicated in the terrorist act. 6 days later he asked for a meeting with the investigator, and in the presence of his lawyer he confessed in having organized the terrorist act against the president of the republic, motivating his actions by the fact that the latter has supposedly persecuted his relatives and him”, said the General Prosecutor of RNK.
According to Mavr Ghukasian, besides indictments for the organization of the terrorist act, weapon theft, etc, materials of Babayan’s participation in a large scale illegal money turnover are being examined. -0-
