THE RUSSIAN “ITERA” COMPANY WANTS TO SELL GAS TO AZERBAIJAN

26.07.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. “Itera” is negotiating with Azerbaijan on gas sale in connection with the decision of the government of the republic to purchase 2 billion cubic meters of fuel in 2000, and to bring gas import to 4-5 billion cubic meters in the future. About this declared the president of “ITERA-Holding” Valery Ochertsov in the interview to PRIME-TASS agency on July 24. According to him, “Itera” wants to export gas to Azerbaijan, as ” this market is able to pay for the gas by financial means”.
“Azerbaijan makes money by oil sale, and these means are enough to pay for the gas and to have a considerable profit at the same time. Besides us, some other companies have claimed for gas supply, in particular, a joint Russian-German enterprise and a Russian company. “Itera” will participate in the tender, held by Azerbaijan. The decision must be taken in July”, said Ochertsov. -0-
